The one about Fabulous Sex and Deceiving Appearances

July 14, 2007 - 5:30 pm 4 Comments

If you have been following my blog long enough, yes you, who had followed me from the xtralicious.blogspot days, you will know that I hardly ever talk about sex. Whining about the lack back in the good ole days of sexual drought, yes. But to really talk about the minute details like some of the sex blogs, no. Different folks, different strokes. I just cannot detail such intimacy. But I understand the naughty rush of kiss and tell for others like Sash. Just not for me. Also, it doesn’t help that I am rather boring. No f**k buddies or rendezvous with dark handsome strangers, hot blooded flings or the like. Heh.
But yes, Big and I are very contented in that department, thank you very much. :P

On another note, I met Little Miss Drinkalot at a friend’s birthday party. My first impression of her was that she is very friendly and a little blur (she had lost her phone then) and the physical imprint had been that of a conservative lady, perhaps of her very conservative attire, as compared to my usual tube/ corset or v necked dress combis.

But whoa, I was damn wrong, can? She’s waaaay waaay hotter than sexy dressing moi here! So guys, don’t ever judge the book from its cover.

Muffin crumbs

Muffin has integrated into our family very comfortably. Geanyne carries her around the house like she’s a little rag doll and Muffin lets her.

Germaine has to play with her everyday. Whenever we come back from work, she will come to the door as if welcoming us home, then curl around our legs purring.

She sleeps anywhere and everywhere and anyhow.

such a little slut. tsk tsk tsk

It’s easy to get married

July 14, 2007 - 3:54 pm 2 Comments

My mum called me yesterday sounding pretty distressed. Apparently my brother got back together with his ex girlfriend who was two timing him. This reunion, accordingly to my brother, was sweet as “both parties appreciate each other better now“. But my mum, who is a traditional Chinese woman who believed in being faithful and virtuous and all that, had the worst impression of the girl. She told me,

If she can cheat on him then, what makes him think she wouldn’t after marriage?”

I am in two minds about this. On one hand, I think two timers ought to be shot. I belong to the camp of you-choose-one, either-the-old-or-the-new-and-move-on-already and being a one-man woman. So her two timing left a bad taste in my mouth.

On the other hand, I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt. Also, they got back together after a year apart and maybe given time, she had changed. And as long as they are happy together, who are we to object?

But still, this is family I am talking about although it is hard for me (and mum) to really release the apron strings, ultimately we must as he is all of 25 now and honestly, we couldn’t control the situation even if we wanted.

So, I could only shared with him what I went through.

It’s very easy to get married. Get a date from the Registry of Marriages, show up on that date and sign on the dotted line. Voila, you’re married! Can apply for HDB flat! Lada lada.

It’s another story to get a divorce. Lawyers to and fro. Correspondences to and from HDB, CPF etc. Fighting over the matrimonial flat proceeds. Fighting over every damn thing. Meanwhile, the lawyers are laughing all the way to the bank.

And forget the simplistic advertisements on television trying to persuade more people to have babies. Life with children is not all laughter and roses. There is frustration, anxiety, worry and a whole lot of myriad feelings involved. The worst is when you fight over the custody of the children and they are torn between both parents.

I tried to tell him all this, without making him feel that I am shooting down the romance. I just hope that he goes into this with his head clear and his eyes open.

My parents are not optimistic of his plans to get married. I trust their judgment as they also did not like the ex husband back then and they were against me marrying him for the sake of the baby.

My mum, especially, is so worried and disappointed. Imagine, her only daughter, divorced with two kids, and her only son, going to get married to a girl she thinks most unsuitable!

She told me,

You are a mother now. You will know how I feel. Very gek sum.”

I can feel her anguish and sadness.

I am too.

Monsterina #1 turns 9

July 10, 2007 - 9:41 am 1 Comment

It’s Germaine’s birthday today! The monsterina is 9. We’ve come a long way, haven’t we? Despite the angst (yes, angst at a tender age) and the usual up and downs, we still have a great time together. Many more years to go, kid.

As per my penchant for surprise series in celebrating big events (think birthdays and anniversaries), we planned a nice birthday celebration for her.

Mango mousse cake, gorgeous isn’t it

The Birthday Girl looking mighty pleased

We hid her gifts in the house as a treasure hunt, and played a trick on her by replacing the white Sony Ericsson we bought for her with another pink phone in the packaging. Knowing how she hates pink (and the colour of that phone was a horrid hot pink!) it was a good sport of her to put on a brave face when she opened the box and saw the phone.

I am so proud of her! My gal aint no spoilt brat! :)

Ger blowing out candles *see the hand placing the real
McCoy (the Sony Ericsson K618i) on the table*

We placed the real McCoy, the Sony Ericsson K618i beside the cake when she closed her eyes to make a wish. When she opened her eyes, the blur queen didn’t even notice the phone was there! Maybe the white phone was camouflaged by the white table. Hahahahaha! Anyway, it all ended happily with her discovering the phone when Big asked her to move the phone away and cut the cake. She squealed with delight and the joy on her face was priceless.

But of course, we have to push the envelope further with this:

Nintendo DS Lite!! Gorgeous ebony gleam of desire. *drool*

We (ok, Big) loaded it with the games that she likes. As with the Gameboy Advance SP, the same rule goes. No playing on weekdays. We are not being regimental but these toys can be rather addictive. Hell, even I am addicted to games like Cooking Mama.

Having spent the night uncovering surprises, laughing and having good fun, we told her to pack her bag for school tomorrow. And placed her new Zinc haversack beside the old Converse one. Needless to say, she was thrilled to bits.

Happy Birthday darling.

Bake a Cake

July 6, 2007 - 5:45 pm 2 Comments

My mum gave me a brand new oven after I whined about how I always have to go to her place to bake… and how I don’t know which brand or model to buy.. *cheers and hugs for mummy dearest!!!

So now, I can bake whenever I want!!

Anyway I need to get this baby before any baking can start…

Saw this in Tangs when I was shopping during my lunch hour. It’s gorgeous!! The shiny gleam of red reminds me of fresh manicures and it matches my nails too. *vanity strikes yet again* Heh.

Where’s the dignity?

July 6, 2007 - 5:06 pm 2 Comments

I went for a leisurely lunch at Sushi Tei at Ngee Ann City and enjoyed sashimi, shishamo and the good old people watching.

It would have been very enjoyable except for a slight marring by a very shameless SPG sitting right next to my table with her prized catch. You know, the species that suffer from Pinkerton Syndrome and would grovel to be with a white man, no matter how old or ugly?

There she was, being felt up by the angmoh for a free Japanese meal.

Goodness, can’t you just buy your own meal and keep your dignity like everyone else?!

A friend commented that maybe, she does get to go shopping on his account too.

However, the point is also moot. To me, as long as there is sexual favours in exchange for anything, regardless of the value or amount, she’s no better than a prostitute.

The clincher was when the angmoh started to leer at me lasciviously.

I paid for my meal and left.

Getting old or what…

July 6, 2007 - 9:52 am No Comments

These days I like Gold 90.5 for the mellow old songs they play. I no longer go out and club furiously as I did in the past. In fact, I don’t even have the desire to club at all. A nice evening out with the girls at jazz@southbridge and have a few glasses of wine sound more enjoyable to me.

Yesterday we met up with a couple of dear friends at Ice Cold Beer for a couple of drinks and their signature chicken wings and Ice Cold Beer pizza, and of course, the very necessary information sharing session. Hah!

It was good. And of cos she of the legendary legs got groped by yours truly… heh.

I am a terrible terrible fiendfriend.

Raving Reviews

OK not exactly raving, but words like diligent, intelligent, sharp, good judgement call, analytical, good quality work, did really make my day.

My boss is the works. *grin*
